I have been wearing jewelry for as long as I can remember. My beloved Nana Ceil was my fashion idol – beautifully dressed, neatly coiffed and always decked out in tasteful, sparkling jewelry.
I soon became hooked making jewelry for friends and moved on to creating beaded jewelry that was sold at private home shows and, eventually, at juried arts and crafts shows in NY and NC. I slowly advanced to metalsmithing after studying at the Rochester Museum and Science Center (Rochester, NY), Tryon Arts Center (Tryon, NC), My Garden of Beadin’ (Hendersonville, NC), Ornamentea (Raleigh, NC) and the Cary Arts Center (Cary, NC).
Today, I enjoy using a variety of materials – metals including copper, brass, nickel silver and sterling silver teamed up with glass, beads, leather, art papers and charms. My objective is to create pieces of wearable art that are BOTH unique and affordable.
Ally still maintains a part-time position in health care but is careful to manage stress by keeping fit, watching birds, gardening, cooking, and creating beautiful jewelry her Nana would be so proud of! Ally lives with her very patient and supportive husband and two cats outside of Raleigh, NC
